Other Remarks / Description
This structure that forms the Kerr business block is characterized by its large mass with nine regular bays fronting Main Street and three fronting W. Broadway. The design of the structure is reflective of its original combined commercial and industrial use. The corner vertical mass at Main and W. Broadway is rounded and topped with a section comprised of small square stones. Heavy rock-faced lintels top each of the windows. A horizontal band of wide stone lintels divides street level from the second story. The cornice consists of brick set into distinctive corbelled patterns. Each bay is separated by a plain brick pilaster.
